Brief	After sharing the open-source Tough Turban design, manufacturers from around the world reached out and asked to see the prototypes. We wanted to curate their experience. By design, the Tough Turban looks like a regular, unremarkable length of fabric – it's layers of impact resistant material are housed inside a layer of breathable cotton. Packaging could add a layer of storytelling and innovation to the unboxing experience.Just as turbans are wrapped from a single length of fabric, our packaging came in the form of a single sheet, folded origami-style around the prototype. The resulting folds echo the lines of a Turban. As the packaging was opened one fold at a time, blocks of copy revealed themselves explaining the technology behind the turban’s impact-resistant materials, with printed patterns nodding to each innovation.
