Story | In response to mental health issues caused by the new “remote work” style, we developed “INNER FACE,” an AI that analyzes facial expressions through webcams. This innovation represents a new method of monitoring employees. While respecting privacy, the AI performs about 30,000 facial expression analyses per day through the PC’s webcam during work hours. This enables the creation of personalized reports, allowing individuals to accurately understand their own conditions. This project is being advanced in collaboration with industry and academia, alongside experts in psychology and human sciences, as the world’s first research into the correlation between the facial expressions and mental health of remote workers. It has already been featured in over 50 media, prompting a reevaluation of the importance of mental health care in an era where new workstyles, such as remote work, have become widespread. Furthermore, in our validation experiments, we have successfully obtained over 15.5 million facial expression analysis data. Research is progressing to predict mental health abnormalities and assist in diagnosis based on facial expressions. |
