Story | Combining actual location scouting photos and folders with headlines suggesting potential, and sometimes off-beat, story lines, this print campaign promotes Minnesota as a state offering film producers a wide range of locations and a welcome sense of humor. |
Philosophy | The Minnesota Film and TV Board needed an economical vehicle to draw attention to the states production potential at key industry events and shows. Kerker created a series of posters that mimicked location scouting folders, showcased interesting state locations and conveyed a sense of humor by suggesting several plot scenarios for which a given location might be used. Posters were signed off with the theme line Locations for any plot. Costs on the 12-poster campaign were minimized using existing Film Board location photos, old folders found in the Kerker supply room and a $10 rubber stamp for the logo. |
Problem | The Minnesota Film and TV Board promotes Minnesotas production resources. The state offers a tremendous variety of locations, a fact that is either unknown or overlooked in the film industry. The challenge was to communicate this key advantage and put Minnesota on the radar screens of location scouts and producers. |
