Carlos Savage Interview(s)

What motivates you to be part of the PHNX Jury, and what do you hope to bring to the judging process?
I'm thrilled to be a part of PHNX Jury to help set a standard for what advertising looks like in 2025. I hope top bring a global perspective, a great set of hair, and some enlivened discussion.
PHNX has always been about celebrating creativity in all its forms. What new perspectives or disciplines do you think deserve more recognition in award shows today?
Things that don't look like advertising. Things that are hard to categorize. That's where advertising is at its most organic and exciting.
Which countries or regions do you think are leading the creative field right now? And which emerging markets should we look out for?
As a kiwi, I always look to New Zealand for their scrappy, innovation. Australia too, I guess.
What trends or cultural shifts do you think will define the most impactful creative work this year?
Brands as content, and a always-on, consistent, constant dialogue vs. shouting at a consumer and elbowing our way in front of the things they really want to be looking at.
If you could give one piece of advice to agencies and creatives submitting their work, what would it be?
There's plenty of exciting tech and innovation happening in ideas today. But god damn, would I love to see some beautiful writing as well. The world still needs killer headlines.
Which creative minds are inspiring you the most right now?
Indie agencies like Rethink and Mischief as some to look towards. I believe we're entering the era of the indie.
