Brief | To reach a younger audience and debunk the stereotype that theatre is a dull, highbrow presentation of ancient stories, the Katona Jozsef Theater in Hungary created a new genre of theatre. The organisation produced a one-minute play every day for two weeks, based on breaking news items from the country’s most popular online news outlet. While in video format, each piece incorporated every bit of classic theatre – from writing to set and costume design – showing that theatre can be responsive, up-to-date and online. |
