Brief | The 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan created two separate nations, forcing more than 14 million people to migrate overnight. Many of them left belongings behind. Nearly 70 years later, OLX, a used goods site operating in India and Pakistan, launched Dastaan: a project that aimed to reunite people with their lost objects. People in both countries were asked to list things that had been left behind during the Partition. A video featuring a real life story kicked off the campaign. Soon thousands of people were reunited with evocative objects and family heirlooms. |
