Philosophy | ShotTracker®, the provider of automatic real-time performance data for basketball teams, and Keemotion®, the leader in automated video production, came together to power the 80th National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division I Men’s National Championship Basketball Tournament, serving automatic real-time analytics and high-definition video to coaches, players and fans alike. The technology was used in 31 games over the course of the six-day tournament, and was the first time unmanned technology was used in a tournament to gather player analytics and video. The insight behind these technologies, and ultimately this event, is that players and teams improve with more data about their performance, and fans crave sports-related content. The challenge for smaller college conferences, high schools and travel teams is the cost and resources required to gather advanced analytics and video. These technologies open that capability to teams and tournaments at every level of play. |
