Seine Kongruangkit Interview(s)

Viewpoints about Creativity

In a few words, can you tell us who you are what your job title is?
I’m Seine (pronounced: Sen) I am a 26 years old art director, and audiovisual artist currently living in Berlin. Named after the river in Paris, I was born and raised in Bangkok in the 90s. As a queer person of color, I strive to use my creativity to influence and empower people of all backgrounds and that has brought me into the advertising world. So far, I’ve worked with amazing agencies like Droga5, GUT, Dentsu, and Innocean Berlin. I have won more than 20 advertising awards and have been mentioned in major publication like Forbes, LADbible, Boredpanda, to mention a few.
What word would you best use to describe your office’s culture? Give us an example
I would say Motivated, at INNOCEAN I feel pushed and fed with motivation all the time. I was lucky enough to work with a lot of agencies that gives me green light to continue working on achieving my goal and ensures that I have chosen the right path and should keep practicing to become even better. For example at GUT, I got the opportunity to work on the project from Popeyes called 'At least you still have a sandwich' It was displayed in Time Square and got everyone talked about at the time. My team was really proud and they are all very supportive about it.

If you could choose three ads from history that you didn’t work on and add them to your portfolio, which three would you choose? Explain why
Seine Kongruangkit:
  • 1 Candide Thovex – quattro / I love how it's a car ad but without any car in it.
  • 2 Coca cola - Try not to hear this / Simple, sexy.
  • 3 Nike - Dadading / The visual leaves me stunned.
What is your opinion on the growing trend of agencies getting involved with developing products for clients?

Can you watch this case study for Hammerhead Navigation and tell us your thoughts on the product and the campaign?

The product is very Smart and innovative, I would like to try it. Although might be a problem when it comes to complicated routes. I personally think it is nice that agencies are getting more involved with developing products. Agencies are filled with creative people that can solved almost any problem in the world using creativity, so why not use it on something that could actually makes life better.
