Philip Martin Interview(s)

PHNX Tribute Jury

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury?
It's a great initiative first and foremost, to showcase the creative industry. It caught my eye as a way to share great ideas in a time of doom and gloom and to connect with like minded people.
What impact do you think the event might have on the industry?
I think the sharing of ideas will spark new ideas. It will create a new level of optimism and showcase to companies and people outside of the industry.
What do you think of the hybrid jury, which includes strategists and journalists alongside creatives?
It's necessary. Creative work is objective and needs to tick most of the boxes to be accepted by an audience. it's always good to have a different point of view. I think we will all learn from each other.
What will you be looking for when you start judging the entries?
I have both a client side and agency side to me with a technical background (jack of all trades master of non lol) and I've lived abroad for many years. So first making sure they have met the brief and found a formula that works for the client and target audience, bringing great results.
What lasting impact might the current crisis have on creative work?
I believe it will only make us stronger. In any crisis the challenges bring more opportunities for creative ideas to help during the crisis and then move everything to the next phase.
