Tim Cook Interview(s)

PHNX Tribute Jury

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury?
To help spot and promote the best work of our industry.
What impact do you think the event might have on the industry?
The best ideas are always the simplest. Rewarding great work doesn't always need glitzy award ceremonies. I think this event could be great for small agencies, freelancers and other misfits.
What do you think of the hybrid jury, which includes strategists and journalists alongside creatives?
Finally. Creative work isn't ever just the creative department. With what we do here specifically, we're dipping in and out of all disciplines, all the time. And including journalists, who talk about our work or work in partnership with us to give brand relevancy, is a bloody good shout in completing the circle.
What will you be looking for when you start judging the entries?
Standout work that fulfils briefs. Nothing more than that.
What lasting impact might the current crisis have on creative work?
Well it's changed loads, hasn't it? Now we're all in underpants logging into Zoom, stressing out when files don't upload at a million billion miles a second and have to manage the annoyance of the washing machine going mad in-between Photoshop mock-ups. I think the work has been pretty creative though, and adapted quite well for the most part, but long-term there might only be so many at-home vertical films we can watch. It will be interesting to see the future 'bigger' productions and how they adapted to social distancing rules etc.
