TitleThe Sounds of the Underground
BriefAs the war in the Ukraine dwindled in UK media, so did donations to charities who rely on this coverage. Supplies for Ukraine C.I.C, who send life-saving equipment to the frontline needed to reignite public support. The public has become numb to the impersonal, and political, focus of coverage, so we found a new way in with something universally relatable at its heart. Music.During Eurovision, the world’s largest music event in Liverpool this year, local buskers selflessly donated their spots to Ukrainians who has lost theirs due to the conflict. Their performances were live-streamed across multiple locations in Liverpool’s MerseyRail network, sparking interest, donations and spreading hope through the power of music.Over the 5 days there was a 550% increase in site visitors which meant donations increased by 1444%, resulting in 60 trauma kits being purchased that protect 100’s of lives at risk in the Ukraine.
