PHNX Jury Interview 2024

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
Being part of the jury this year is, in principle, a personal challenge for me because it's the first time I'm in such a situation. Being involved means getting to know professionals and colleagues from all over, which is always enriching. Additionally, it's about learning and gaining from this experience while we observe new and different ideas that refresh each of our minds.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
I think that's perfect. The world we live in is interdisciplinary. Not only should what we do be judged by other creatives, but having the perspective of people who are not so immersed in advertising creativity in their daily work is great. It always adds value.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
I agree. It's a very interesting benefit that allows us to reach more people.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
Winners are all, for participating, for daring, for doing. Beyond the metal each one may take home, everyone should leave proud of the work they did and how far they've come.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
In my opinion, what is most impactful is when we use the resources we have to work on causes that truly matter. When something we do has an added value that we can't even measure, such as a social or environmental impact. And, on the other hand, in the times we live in, doing things that raise awareness and bring joy can also be impactful.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
Maria García, from Lola Mullenlowe Madrid.
Nicolas Lopez Bravo, from INGO Hamburgo.
Fernando Montero, from INGO Hamburgo.
