Joe Torre epitomizes Torre Lazur, a service-oriented company where the people are smart and fun. A people person whose biggest regret is not knowing each of his employees by first name (because the company has grown so large), Joe also obviously has the smarts to know what services clients need and how to serve those needs effectively.
Joe was one of the founding fathers of the agency in 1979 and has been the driving force behind its explosive growth. Because of his success, McCann-Erickson appointed Joe to head the McCann Healthcare Worldwide corridor, with an international presence in 17 cities around the globe.
Joe's background in marketing, sales, and pharmacy combined with his management skills make him uniquely qualified to spearhead a full-service healthcare communications company.
Joe began his healthcare career as a registered pharmacist working in a retail setting. He was then recruited by Hoffmann-La Roche, where he held positions in sales, marketing, and market research. The expertise he gained in those various environments enabled him to move into advertising with a clear understanding of both the customer and the marketplace. After leaving Roche Labs, he became an account supervisor at Healthmark Communications in New York. His understanding of both industry and client needs enabled him to start his own agency, which has evolved into Torre Lazur.
While Joe is very involved with agency management and client relations, he is also an integral part of the strategic development team at the agency.
Joe is a member of the Health Care Marketing Communications Council, the American Marketing Association, and the American Pharmaceutical Association. He holds a BS degree in pharmacy and an MBA from St. John's University.
