Richard?s career in advertising began in the production department at Lintas. Luckily for him, somebody else broke a leg and he was taken on as a graduate trainee.
He stayed at Lintas five years working on Lever Brothers, Elida Gibbs, Rowntree Mackintosh and Juvena Cosmetics. From there he spent three years at Ogilvy and Mather, where he masterminded the mysterious genius of the Guinness account.
In 1990 he was hired by CDP as Head of Planning - a job that lasted eighteen months until he was lured to WCRS. At WCRS, having run the Planning Department for 5 years, Richard took on a broader remit as Strategy Director, before being appointed Vice Chairman in March 1998.
