Pablo Casacuberta was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1969. In 1990 his first narrative book "Ahora le toca al elefante" (It?s the elephant?s turn now) was published, followed by "La parte de abajo de las cosas" (The underside of things) in 1992, "Esta máquina roja" (This red machine) in 1995,"El Mar" (The sea) in 2000, "Una línea más o menos recta" (A more or less straight line) in 2001 and "Aquí y Ahora"(Here and now) in 2002. He has directed experimental and fictional short films, animations and one feature film, "Another George" (UK , 1998) which he directed together with Yukihiko Goto. His work as materials director for TV has been aired in more than twenty countries.
As a visual artist, he has participated in several group exhibitions, both in Uruguay and abroad, namely "Immediate" (U.K. ,1999), "Composición de lugar" (Composition of place), in Montevideo, 2004 and "Settimana del Uruguay" (Uruguayan Week) in Venice , 2007. Following a photographic exhibition, ?Apariciones? (Apparitions), he published, in 2007, a book by that same name, in which the photographs from the exhibit are included.
