Born in Palermo, Gaetano La Rosa studied Art and Communication at DAMS in Bologna with Umberto Eco and Paolo Fabbri. He is co-founder of the net-art group epidemiC (epidemic.ws ). With the group he presented to the 49° Venice Biennale Exhibition "biennale.py", the first computer virus/art work. Since 1993 he worked as copywriter with advertising companies in Milan: STZ with Fritz Tschirren and Hans Suter, Leo Burnett, Euro RSCG, BGS and, as free lance, with Publicis Italia, Publicis Conseil Parigi and Saatchi & Saatchi London. During the 2006-2007 he was creative director with Publicis Roma. In the last three years he worked for National Geographic Channel, Nike, Y&R Rome and Consiglio Nazionale del Notariato (Italian Notary Association).
He developed advertising campaigns for several customers, among which are: Rum Pampero, Rai, Renault, iGuzzini illuminazione (lighting), B&B Italia, Boffi, Ass. Beni Culturali della Regione Siciliana (Dept. Cultural Heritage of Sicily), Aperol Soda, Coca Cola, Comune di Roma (Rome Municipality), Finmeccanica, Salone del Mobile di Milano, Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma, Vortice, Toyota.
