PJ Pereira is Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Pereira & O’Dell with 20 years of experience in the technology and advertising industry. He has been featured Creativity’s annual “Creativity 50” featuring those who have made a significant mark on the creative consciousness of our industry. PJ was also named in Advertising Age’s “40 under 40” for his bold creative strategies.


A seasoned entrepreneur, PJ has held executive roles both at start up agencies such as AgênciaClick, which PJ also founded, to established international agencies such as AKQA where he was ECD working on global accounts such as McDonald’s, Nike, Coca-Cola, Visa, Red Bull, Target and Microsoft.


He has received more than 60 international awards during the last 10 years and has served as President of juries at Cannes Lions, London International and One Show Festivals.

PJ started his career as a programmer at the tender age of 13 in Brazil. Now 40, he has achieved a career-long list that includes 3 Grand Prix at Cannes, an Emmy, and has authored a trilogy of books which is now in negotiations for a movie deal. Fast Company Named Pereira & O’Dell “One of the Most Innovative Companies in Advertising” and the agency ranked among both AdAge and Creativity’s “A-Lists”. And that’s just the past year! But in PJ’s mind, he’s just getting started.
PJ Pereira is CCO and co-founder of Pereira & O’Dell, which has offices in San Francisco, New York, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Founded in 2008, the agency’s success has stemmed from everything including pioneering social film for Intel and Toshiba to creating a smokable songbook for Snoop Dogg.
The agency operates under the mantra “What if advertising were invented today?” which alleviates all distinctions between forms of media as the agency is constantly looking at the tools they are given to tell a story. A sweet spot for the agency has been branded content. Pereira & O’Dell has created for Intel and Toshiba three full length feature films where the audience can play a starring role in the film. The second film “The Beauty Inside”, took home an Emmy for “Outstanding New Approach to a Series” which was the first time an advertisement had beat out regular programming, and nabbed 3 of the 6 US Grand Prix awards at Cannes Lions. More recently, the agency’s branded content work for the Skype “Stay Together” campaign struck such an emotional chord with viewers that, according to Buzzfeed, helped people “restore their faith in the internet.” The campaign earned at Gold Pencil in Branded Entertainment at the 2014 One Show.

And 6 years since founding Pereira & O’Dell. Still, he feels he is just getting started.

It is the world's foremost non-profit organization devoted to elevating creative work in the industry. It seeks to celebrate the legacy of creative advertising and to use that legacy to inspire future generations. The One Club is the 'keeper of the flame' for advertising creatives.

The One Show remains the pinnacle of achievement by providing a showcase of the world’s best work, and by inviting collaboration among individuals who are actively developing outstanding work.

Further, The One Club exists to educate and inspire students of the business and to benefit the next generation of creatives through scholarships, portfolio reviews and annual student exhibitions and competitions.

And finally, The One Club exists to inspire clients to seek the rewards that come with calculated risks and new ideas. As long as great ideas are allowed to take form, The One Club will continue to exist to encourage and promote them.
