Pioneering Creative Technologist Bridging Innovation and Storytelling
Kyoko’s journey from academia to creative innovation is as unique as her approach to technology. After earning a BA in Astronautics and an MA in Computer Science, she joined Dentsu, where she forged a trailblazing career that began with collaborative research with prestigious institutions such as MIT Media Lab and the University of Tokyo.
As a creative technologist, Kyoko specializes in areas where technology and creativity intersect, spanning communication strategy, product innovation, and service development. She is known for her hands-on collaboration with clients’ engineers and developers, working to unearth the essence of their technology and narrate compelling stories through digital and interactive experiences.
Kyoko’s portfolio includes celebrated projects like ‘Connecting Lifelines,’ ‘dots by internavi,’ and the iconic ‘Sound of Honda / Ayrton Senna 1989’ for Honda’s Internavi. Her innovative work also extends to groundbreaking initiatives such as ‘Play Air’ for Olympus, ‘The Space Hangout’ for JAXA, and ‘HAKUTO’ for ispace.
Her contributions to the field have earned her widespread acclaim, including a Titanium Grand Prix, a Titanium Lion, and seven Gold Lions at Cannes Lions, alongside prestigious honors like a Black Pencil and four Yellow Pencils at D&AD, a Gold Pencil at One Show Interactive, and a Grand Prix at the Japan Media Arts Festival. In 2016, she served as a jury member for the Digital Crafts category at Cannes Lions, cementing her reputation as a leader in the field.
When she’s not shaping the future of creative technology, Kyoko enjoys the company of her feline companions, reflecting her deep affection for cats. Her ability to merge the precision of technology with the art of storytelling continues to set her apart as a force in the industry.
