Title | More than pain |
Brief | While there is a growing awareness in Australia of prescription opioids as powerful and potentially addictive painkillers, there are a range of other physical, mental and social side effects the public is largely unaware of.Our idea was to use cinematic storytelling to build a powerful narrative around these seemingly unrelated issues, before unexpectedly revealing opioids as the common cause. The result is a moving twist on a side effects awareness piece; an arresting 45-second film that explores the nature of loss through relationship breakdown, social isolation, crippling anxiety and impaired function.Emotive and suggestive, the multiple narrative threads provide connection points for a wide and diverse audience, capturing their attention before delivering our warning – opioids can take away more than pain. |

Story | 45 second film/advertisement created to expose the risk of dangerous physical and emotional side effects associated with the use of prescription opioids. Produced on behalf of Return to Work South Australia – a Government body responsible for helping injured workers get back to work. Given that many injured workers are prescribed opioids to manage their pain, they are a particularly at-risk group. The ad directs viewers to reachforthefacts.com.au, a dedicated website that provides useful information on the associated risks of prescription opioids. The site includes an on online dependency test, and alternative pain management options. |
