PHNX Jury Interview 2024

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
The PHNX is one of the fairest festivals in the market and in the industry, where what is relevant is not the financial amount that an agency or network has, but whether the idea has the character and level to receive recognition, be it local, regional or global.

Everything has a cost, of course, but paying for nothing and paying for recognition is valid and fair.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
For many it may seem like a dangerous metric, but I see it as a fair metric. In these more than 20 years in the market I have lived with different criteria, many professionals in the initial process of the career present a finer criteria than many cco or presidents of large agencies, it is a way to show that talent and criteria does not have a job position but just has a name.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
It's only fair and should be an example for all other festivals.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
S the fusion between creativity and the avant-garde. In a world where simplicity no longer exists with the advancement of artificial intelligence, I think the wheel has changed and we are back to real craft.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
I think that not being artificial is what is becoming really real, and I'm not just talking about graphics or video made by machines, in the end it's not the machine but the human that drives the machine.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
Anselmo Ramos
Gastón Bigio
Sergio Gordilho
