I worked in the Star Wars shop while looking for a journalism job. It mostly involved talking to 8-year-olds about their favorite jedi. It was awesome.
One summer while I was a student this company decided to trust me with a van full of nerve agent chemicals and set me loose on the wasps of the south of England. I loved the surprise on people's faces when they saw a skinny emo kid roll up with Radio 4 blasting out of his van.

My dissertation project was to create a magazine from concept through to market research, business planning, flatplanning, researching writing and designing. In a group of three we produced an 88-page culture magazine called Reckoner, which focused on the best music, film, current affairs and arts from just to the left of the mainstream.
My dissertation was titled: "‘Delirium of History’: The Subversion of Totalising Discourses in Ben Okri’s The Famished Road and Thomas King’s Green Grass, Running Water" It received a first-class honours grade.
