I always knew I wanted to go into advertising. As a kid, I liked watching the commercials more than the television shows. I thought I would be a copywriter, but my college professor made it clear that a B on my portfolio meant I was going to have a tough road ahead, so I set out to discover my niche outside the creative department.
I dabbled in media, direct, broadcast and print production before finding new business. It was a fluke, actually. I thought I was interviewing for an Account Management job, but it turned out to be New Business. I took it and after 19 years, I’m still doing it.
I’ve dug into almost every category, researched hundreds of brands, responded to more than 250 RFPs, produced/directed over 100 pitches, worked with many incredibly talented people, and helped create some really great client-agency relationships resulting in over a hundred million dollars in agency revenue.
