About me

Lawrence Ribeiro has created over 100 action sequences involving fights, cars, motorcycles, and more. When not on set, Lawrence works on building a creative skillset, for the art and illusion of creating excitement on screen.

Lawrence's recent short films exemplify the creative power of ACTION REALISM. “Part Deux : The Chase”, directed and edited by Lawrence, has won multiple awards and is nearing 2 million views. It is the sequel to his original short film “The Chase,” which won 8 Best Action Awards.

On the release of Lawrence's latest book, "Action Realism: The Art of Action," MovieMaker Magazine said, "Action Director Lawrence Ribeiro's new book goes beyond its scope as a technical production manual to become a holistic treatise on creativity... ‘Action Realism’ is a great overview of an intimidating aspect of the moviemaking process."

Lawrence has two action thriller feature films in development -TreeTop Flyers and Lord Carnage - and the TV series Lone Fury in development . His upcoming projects include a motorcycle chase to challenge speed limits captured on camera, a Rock Opera with an iconic rock band, and a dance film with cinematographer legend Chris Doyle. Past innovations include collaborations with Hollywood VFX legend Doug Trumbull (2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner) on his Maji Technology.

A master of the environment, Lawrence is well-versed in diverse terrains, landscapes and cultures. Lawrence has global experience working in China, Morocco, UK, France, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Lawrence has also contributed as a writer to MovieMaker and Filmmaker Magazines; given keynote talks for PromaxBDA and Film Independent; and served as a finalist juror for the Emmy Awards.
