Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
Our industry is all about curiosity, creative challenge, and that "I wish I thought of that" jealous motivation that keeps us striving to be better at what we do. Being part of PHNX is a privilege to experience work from all around the world, to discover new cultural insights, new ways of thinking, new creative executions and to judge impactful pieces of work that stand out on a Global level.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
Work that works is the only way to go. I personally believe this is the best way to do it, as the creative pieces will be judged from different perspectives (creativity & efficiency) on the market. It brings a fair and more solid perspective on ideas that actually make a difference for brands.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
This democratizes the award industry and allows for creative hot shops and smaller boutique agencies to participate and be seen and also make their staff and clients proud. Let's face it, the award industry is a budget by itself and most commonly owned by the Giant holding groups because thy can afford it. It is a gamble that most small to medium agencies can't afford. This makes the game fair to play for everyone. It is a win win situation, literally.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
Creative Excellence, Strategic values, Human insights.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
Empathy, emotional Intelligence, Human led insights always win in any context if well used of course.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
All the creatives at mink :)
