About me

Javier Martinez Vaquero has 18 years of experience in the advertising and creative industry. After working for companies and independent creative agencies in Madrid and Barcelona such as Robert Bosch, Thinksmart, Btob, Groupon, Karpa Marketing Group working for clients such as: Vodafone, BMW, Danone, DKV, Fiat,TNT, Movistar, L'Óreal, Astor, Rimmel London, Master Blenders 1973 among others. In 2013 he decided to undertake and co-founded the independent creative agency in Spain “El Hombre del Paraguas”. Under the philosophy “Bored is bad for business” he has built his own stamp creating seriously provocative solutions through creativity, technology and innovation. As creative director and founding partner of El Hombre del Paraguas he has worked for local, national and international companies such as: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, AXN TV, AMC Networks, Tri Pictures, Deoleo Group, Santander, Renault Group, Alpine, Thyssenkrupp, Lefebvre among others. He has acquired extensive experience in the entertainment, automotive and cosmetics industries. He is currently a jury member of ASPID, Ibero-American Festival of advertising creativity and communication in health and pharmacy, He has also been president of the jury in Publifestival (International Festival of Social Advertising) and also in festivals such as FEPI (First Festival of Independent Advertising) and Luxury Advertising Awards (International Festival of Luxury Advertising). He accumulates more than 40 national and international awards, being the most recent ASPID 2024 and WINA 2024 (World Independent Advertising Awards), Publifestival, Luxury Advertising Awards, FEPI and national awards such as Agripina and Educafestival. He is also part of the support faculty of courses for the Faculty of Communication at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
