Adam Berg found his cinematic footing as a child shooting zombie flicks in his parents’ back yard. With an indisputable filmic flair, Berg turned his attention to a more scholarly approach to the craft, building his knowledge at Stockholm University before moving on to attend the Stockholm Film School.
His debut Music Video, for his brother’s band Kent, won a Swedish Grammy for Best Music Video in 1997. Berg relocated to London the following year and continued to direct music videos. His work included promos for a range of artists like Groove Armada, Death in Vegas and Reef. Soon after, he moved on to commercial projects, gaining international attention for his work.
For more than a decade Berg has directed award-winning films for some of the world’s leading brands including Volvo, EDF, O2, Gatorade, Brand Jordan and Lexus. In 2009, Berg received international praise for his Philips 16:9 “Carousel” for Tribal DDB Amsterdam. The spot won the 2009 Cannes Lion Film Grand Prix, the first time ever that an online spot breached the walls of that TV-centric award category. David Lubars, Chairman of the Film Lions Jury, described the Grand Prix-winning spot as a “magnet” and an “extraordinarily engaging, creative and mind blowing” cinematic journey.
His “Home Within Homes” commercial for Talk Talk picked up a 2012 Silver Cannes Craft Lion for Animation and Bronze Cannes Craft Lion for Art Direction.
Adam added to his already prolific collection of work with an array of films, spanning all styles and genres, for Infinity, Mercedes, Xbox Gears of War, Samsung, Acura, Sony, and Playstation. His Nike “Game on World” spot won a Bronze Clio for Direction and he was most recently honored at the 2014 AICP Show in Visual Effects for his Acura ‘Let the Race Begin’ commercial, done with Mullen. Adam then shot an emotionally captivating video for Happiness’ track “All Apologies”, depicting an elderly woman slow dancing with her late husband for one last time.
Most recently, Berg shot a film for X-Box’s new racing game “Forza 2” with 215 McCann, visually enthralling work for the FDA’s Anti-Smoking campaign, and a striking new film for Airwick with Droga5, in which we float through a home from the point of view of a spec of dust.
